Welcome to my site on healthy foods.
Hello and welcome to my site all about healthy foods. The aim of this site is to give you a idea about some healthy snacks for weight loss. Many people who are just starting out dieting have there information wrong, weather its by reading someone elses advice or just a common misconception. I aim to give you some tips about foods that I eat on a daily basis myself that have always helped me maintain my weight.
Healthy foods or snacks are hard to come by in todays world. Everywhere you turn you see the latest fast food restaraunt opening or supermarkets selling high fat foods at rediculously cheap prices, none of this is helping us as the globe is reaching a obesity tipping point. I can see this global problem only getting worse and will continue to get worse until we educate people. That is why I decided to create this site, to provide information on what you can eat that I see as healthy. Before you undertake any new diet regime you should either speak to a doctor or nutritionist for further advice.
OK now thats all said and done you will first need to know what kind of foods you should definately not be eating.
The said number one cause of obesity is saturated fat, believe me when I say saturated fat can be found in almost anything these days. You would be hard pressed to find a food that does not contain saturated fats. Foods that include saturated fats are fast food resteraunts think (Maccy D's Burger King.) Takeaways also are high in saturated fats (Chinese, Indian, Mexico, Pizza.) Try to avoid those two as these are probably two of the most popular sources of saturated fats consumed.
Another type of food you want to avoid, but not completely cut out is carbohydrates. Carbs can be very useful for your body and very healthy if you are eating the correct amount in proportion to your bodies needs. However the problem lies with the people who do not know their daily requirements and end up eating too many carbs. This has a knock on effect where people cant burn off all the carbs they eat so the body stores them using the only way it knows how. Your fat stores.
Ok so I have covered the main bad foods, lets move on to the healthier options available that are right infront of us that people overlook.
Vegetables and fruits - You most likely already knew how healthy these are for you, but you would be amazed how many people still do not include them in their diet plan. So dont make excuses for not eating them, they have some great health benefits and although I admit not all of them have the nicest taste in the world some of them do (take oranges and apples for example.)
Chicken - Always include chicken in your diet. Unless your a vegetarian of course. Chicken has a lot of protein in it which is great for repairing and building. Plus it tastes great and goes with almost anything.
OK guys, thats it for now Thanks for reading and I wish you all the best, and dont ever give up on your goals.
